About the building
Building information
South Eveleigh is a state-of-the-art work and lifestyle destination. The precinct provides commercial workspaces and food, beverage and retail outlets, as well as extensive public domain and community facilities. South Eveleigh Gardens feature an Indigenous planting theme showcasing a variety of native, edible, cultural and medicinal plant species.
At the heart of the South Eveleigh precinct is the heritage-listed Locomotive Workshop where a major adaptive-reuse program has brought Sydney’s industrial heritage to life. The conservation and revitalisation of the Locomotive Workshop has created a contemporary industrial museum that preserves the authenticity of the site while also delivering elements of surprise and sophisticated engagement for visitors. The exhibitions, which are free to the public and open year-round, are seamlessly integrated into the commercial and public spaces.
Visitors will have the opportunity to access the Locomotive Workshop, including behind-the-scenes areas and tenancies not usually open to the public.
